Have rich experience in supervision to clinicians across training levels
We see you in your strengths and challenges; We recognize your hard work and intelligence; We understand your restlessness and exhaustion; We work with you to quiet down your mind and to find real peace.
My Approach to Supervision
I enjoy working with new clinicians on growing their “toolbox” of therapeutic techniques as well as deepening their understanding of process and dynamics that unfold in therapy. My therapeutic orientation is a blend of interpersonal, psychodynamic, CBT and feminist theories, and I employ all of these in supervision. I pay close attention to the role of the unspoken in therapy – the unidentified words and emotions that often get glossed over in service of maintaining homeostasis. In supervision, I help clinicians learn how to identify and access the unspoken; this often leads to deeper, long-term change for clients in therapy.
How it is like working with me
I bring focused attention and an eye for detail to my work in supervision. I enjoy getting to know clinicians, both professionally and personally, and work hard to build trust in our relationship. I appreciate the risk it takes to be vulnerable as you are developing new skills and strive to have supervision feel like a safe place to try out new things. I use humor, metaphors, and my own experiences in supervision as well.
